An item reported that lacking an
adequate fresh water supply in Krasnovodsk [nowadays Türkmenbasy, Azerbaijan the
Soviet Reydtanker owned tankers Yakob Sverdlov and Rosa Luksemburgwere used as
transport to supply the town with the needed water. The CIA informant stated
that a proposal to convert the Darwin and Aizya for that purpose was as far as
he knew never executed.
