The projected mobile defence of Cherbourg, France in 1905 according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1904 no. 6

An item reported that for the year 1905 the mobile defence of Cherbourg, France consisted of 1 torpedo-aviso, 2 seagoing torpedo boats, 7 torpedo boats 1st class and 1 torpedo boats 2nd class all fitted out, 2 destroyers and 12 torpedo boats 1st class available, 5 torpedo boats 1st class and 6 torpedo boats 2nd class in reserve, 1 torpedo boat 2nd class fitted on behalf of the submarines and submarines Narval, Sirene, Triton, Silure, Espadon and Aigrette each during 11 months, the Cigogne for 8 months fitted out and further more the Moese and X.
