Classidied as Type C65-corvette between 1968-1988 and as Type F65 frigate 1988-1997, preceded by the T53 class and succeeded y the Tourville-class. Especially designed for anti submarine warfare using DUBV 43 towed active sonar and Malafon anti submarine missiles. Laid down at the Arsenal de Lorient, France on 22 March 1968, launched on 7 March 1970, commissioned on 30 March 1973, decommissioned on 27 February 1997 and on 24 November 2018 arrived at Gent, Belgium to be broken up. Displacement 3.135 (standard)-3.870 (full load) tons and as dimensions 127 (over all) x 13,4 x 5,8 metres or 417 x 44 x 19 feet. One Rateau steam turbine supplying via one shaft 28.650hp allowing a speed of 27 knots and a range of 1.600 respectively 5.000 nautical miles with a speed of 27 respectively 18 knots. Crew numbered 232 men. Armament consisted of 2-10cm/4” Model 1968 gun turrets, 2 launchers of L5torpedoes for which 10 were carried, 1-30,5cm/12” quadruple anti-submarine mortar, since 1985 9 Exocet MM40 missiles replaced anti submarine mortar and since 1992 were 2-2cm Oerlikon guns and 2-12,7mm/0.50 “ machineguns added.
