An item reported that the Bulgarian navy numbered around 30 minesweepers of varying types and dimensions. Six of these boats were probably motor launched handed over by the Soviet Union although possible originally German navy air support boats. Of the minesweepers were 3 probably fitted out as minelayers. The flotilla consisted of one squadron numbering 18 ships divided over two companies and a second planned squadron .
