The Bulgarian inland boat building and maintenance facilities according to a CIA report dated 20 September 1951

An item reported that in the west side of Ruse a shipbuilding annex repair dock for river boats was able and further more facilities for building and maintenance of the Bulgarian Danube boats of the Bulgarsko Rechno Plavane including the two large passengers ships Alexander Stamboliski and Georgi Dimitrov and. The personnel numbered around 300 persons.

A second item reported that the Bulgarsko Rechno Plavane, located at Turgovska Street, Ruse was operating several river pontoons as docks in the major harbours on the Danube. Ruse possessed three, Svishtov and Vidin several and the other harbours minimal one.
