The Soviet Astrakhan naval base according to a CIA report dated September 1967

An item reported the small Soviet Astrakhan naval base with as geographic coordinates 46.10.10 north and 47.55.40 east located 11 nautical miles south west of the centre of Astrakhan on the west bank of the Volga. The shipyard possessed one T-head pier, 4 breasting platforms, 3 marine railways and 19 buildings.
