She made a voyage of 7 months leaving Chile via Panama towards France, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Finland, England, Uruguay and Argentina back to Chile.
Chile-flagged, IMO 8642799, MMSI 7250109006 and call sign CCES. Steel built. Originally to be built as a Spanish national ship. Ordered on 30 May 1946, building started by Echevarrieta y Larrinaga, Cadiz, Spain in 1946, after being harassed by problems causing severe damaged was the shipyard in 1947 nearly bankrupt, the building was stopped, negotiations between Spain and Chile dealing with never paid debts by Spain resulted in a transfer of her, building continued, launched on 15 June 1954 and delivered as a 4 mast topsail schooner on 15 June 1954.
Displacement 3.754 tons and as dimensions 113 x 13,11 x 48,5 (height) x 7 metres or 371 x 43 x 159 x 23 feet. Crew numbers 300 sailors and 90 midshipmen. As a four-masted barquentine is her sail area with 21 sails standby 2.870 square metres or 30.892 square feet. Speed maximum 13 (engine)-17,5 (under sail). The armament consists of 4-5,7cm guns for ceremonial purposes.
