American whaler Le Tour du Pin visited Solomon’s Islands according to the Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald dated Tuesday 21 July 1863

An item reported that the whaler Le Tour du Pin which visited Solomon’s Islands and with a catch of 280 barrels sperm oil after a 26 months cruising was now bound northward.
