An item dated Constantinople, Turkey 8th reported that the Russian fleet retreated to her harbours making it possible for the Turkish fleet to bombard Poti [Georgia] causing a lot of damage. Four British battleships were forced the scene off Akab leaving just one cruiser behind. A second item dated Tiflis [Tbilisi, Georgia] 8th reported that one Turkish cruiser bombarded the town shooting 150 times, thane approached firing with her machineguns at the Russian troops which returned the fire after which the cruiser departed. The damage was yet unknown.
