Launched by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, England with yard number 787 on 8 April 1913, acquired by the Norwegian American Line, begun as ss Bergensfjord her maiden voyage on 25 September 1913, in service of the British Ministry of War Transport between 1940-1946 used as troop transport, of the Panama Lines, Panama City between 1946-1952, renamed Argentina of the Italian Home Lines in 1946, Jerusalem of the Zim Israel Co. Ltd, in 1953 and Aliya in 1956. Sold in August 1959 towards Italy where she arrived at La Spezia on 13 August to be broken up. Gross tonnage 10.699 tons, net tonnage 6.550 tons, deadweight 7.300 tons and as dimensions 512.1 x 61.2 x 29.4 feet. Speed 15 knots. Accommodation for 1.200 passengers. Screw steam ship.
