Laid down by Wiliam Cramp&Sons, Philadelphia, USA with yard number 509 in 1925, launched and baptized on 27 June 1926 as the Malolo of the American shipping company Matson Navigation Company, completed in May 1927, her maiden voyage begun on 16 November 1927, renamed Matsonia in 1937, between begun 1942 and April 1946 troop transport under the War Shipping Administration, in 1948 as Atlantic of the Italian shipping company Home Lines, in January 1955 in Queen Frederica, since 1965 of the Greek shipping company of the Chandris Lines, laid up in November 1973 and sold to be broken up in July 1977 at Eleusina, Greece. Gross register tonnage 17.266 tons and as dimensions 177 x 25 x 9,32 metres or 582 x 83 x 30.7 feet. Accommodation for 620 passengers. IMO 53766997.
