An deed dated 3 April 1656 (notary Claes Pietersz Keetman 502) mentioned that merchant Sijmen Loefssz of Oosthuijsen, Netherlands hired on behalf of his company from Jacob Claesz of Oosthuijsen the ship Blauwe Duijff to be used as a Greenland whaler.
