German lugger Stadt Norden stranded according to the Dutch newspaper Haagsche courant dated 25 November 1898

An item reported that the German herring lugger Stadt Norden, homeport Emden was stranded on the Hubertsplaat near Borkum while homeward bound loaded with 300 ton of herring. The life boat of Borkum saved the 15 crew members. Ship with cargo with a total value of around  ƒ 60.000 was probably lost. Two tugs were underway from Emden to try salvage her.
