Japanese tanker Kokuyo Maru 1938-1944


Built by Kawasaki Dockyard Co. Ltd., Kobe, Japan in 1938, owned by Kokuyo Kosen K.K., Tokyo, Japan, purchased by the Japanese Imperial Navy on 16 November 1940, converted into a fleet tanker, sunk by the American submarine USS Bonefish (SS-223) on 30 July 1944 and stricken on 10 September 1944. Gross tonnage 10.000 tons, under deck 8.800 tons, net tonnage 5.800 tons and as dimensions 500 x 65 x 37.1 feet.
