American whaler China arrived in the Table Bay, South Africa according to the newspaper The Cape of Good Hope Gazette dated Friday 12 February 1836

An item reported the arrival in the Table Bay, South Africa on 8 February of the American whaler China master W.E. Tower which left New Bedford, USA on 2 July 1835 on a whaling cruise. Loaded with 1.600 barrels oil. Put in for refreshments. Shipping agent was US consul Isaac Chase.
