British navy captured Dutch Greenland whalers according to the Dutch newspaper Bataafsche Leeuwarder courant dated 28 August 1798

An item referred to a statement of H. Wichman of De Jonge Pieter who arrived on the 22nd in the Vlie coming from London, England. On the 20th he saw on the position Texel south-east on a distance of 2 miles from him 15 British warships and 1 cutter. A boat commanded by a lieutenant visited and told him that he captured 2 Dutch Greenland whalers.
