Building ordered on 23 January 1984 as the Sal-class mooring and salvage vessel RMAS Salmaster (A186) for account of the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service which is part of the Royal British Navy and operated by Serco Denholm. Launched by Hall, Russell&Company, Aberdeen, Scotland in 1986, commissioned on 10 April 1986 was she in 2001 sold. As the research-survey vessel MV Ocean Endeavour she is nowadays part of the fleet of Gardline Marine Sciences, Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom belonging to the Gardline Group. Technical characteristics as the Salmaster. Displacement of 1.605 (light)-2.225 (full load) tons are her dimensions 253 x 48.9 x 12.5 feet of 77 x 14.9 x 3.8 metres. The machinery consisted of 2 diesel engines supplying via one shaft 4.000 bhp allowing a speed of 15 knots. Her crew numbered 19 men. Rebuilt in 2004 are her technical characteristics summer deadweight 620 ton, gross tonnage 1.967 ton, net tonnage 590 tons and as dimensions 77,1 (over all) x 14,8 x 4,3 metres. Speed 8 (transit)-10 (maximum) knots/ United Kingdom-flagged, homeport Lowesoft, England, IMO 8402008, MMSI 233694000 an call sign GAAL.
