German Danube tug Adrianopolis to be used on the Danube as minesweeper in 1943

In his report dated 6 September 1943 over the month August informed the Beauftragte des Vierjarhresplanes für Romania his responsible Ministerialrat at Berlin the intention of the German Kriegsmarine to compile a minesweeper flotilla. This was necessary while the Danube above Braila became again dangerous due to the mines. The needed ships were to get from the Danube shipping and chosen was for the Adrianopolis. In the coming days she was to be fitted out with minesweeping equipment. In the negotiations the navy agreed that she ships when not used for minesweeping could delivered tow services for German Danube shipping on the routes Braila-Giurgiu and Turn-Severin.
