Dutch Davis Strait whaling commandeur J.C. Jongekees returned according to the Dutch newspaper ’s Gravenhaegse courant dated 4 August 1773

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 2 August reported the arrival on 30 July at Texel, Netherlands of J.C. Jongekees 5 whales 210 quardelen returning from Davis Strait.(1)

1. Identical to Jan Jongekees, commandeur for Willem van Brienen en Zoon, Amsterdam, between 1771-1774? His catch that same year were 6 whales 210 barrels blubber and 290 quardelen whale oil.
