An item reported the arrival on 13 February in the Table Bay, South Africa of the American whaler Shylock master H. Swift which left New Bedford, USA on 13 July 1835 on a whaling cruise. Loaded with 1.300 barrels oil. Put in for refreshments. Shipping agent was US consul Isaac Chase.
