Dutch merchant ships hired for transporting Spanish troops to Mexico according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche courant dated 12 January 1768
An item dated Cadiz, Spain 1 December 1767 reported that the Spanish crown hired 6 Dutch ships to transport 3 batallions to Mexico to disembark there and take 3 other batallions back. A warship was to escort the transports.
