A list of vessels hired by the German Kriegsmarine or for the Black Sea available vessels dated Vienna, Austria 29 January 1944 reported that the Kriegsmarine already hired the Bayerische Lloyd (BL) tug Stralsund with as horsepower 410hp; in pencil 21 June 1944. A list dated 23 March 1944 reported that she was Germany-flagged, fitted out with 2 diesel engines, horsepower 410 hp, fuel consumption 1,92 ton/hour, fuel bunker capacity 20 ton, dimensions 32,00 x 5,80 x 1,75 metres and as speed 5,5 (with tow)-11 (without tow) miles.
