Laid down by Harima S.B.&Eng. Co. Ltd., Harima, Japan for Nippon Kaiun on 14 December 1939, launched on 15 June 1940, completed on 5 August 1940, requisitioned by the Japanese Imperial Navy on 5 September 1941 and destroyed by the American submarine USS Snook (SS-279) around 175 miles north-north west of Chichi Jima on 23 January 1944. Gross tonnage 3.120 tons and as dimensions 97 (over all) x 14 x 7,5 metres or 318.3 x 45.11 x 24.7 feet. Armament consisted of 1-8cm/40 3rd Year Type naval gun,1x2 Type 93 machine gun, 1 Type 3 heavy machine guns and 120 mines. Used as an auxiliary gunboat and minelayer.
