An item dated Cadiz, Spain 17 February reported the arrival since 7 February of ships returning from the Americas namely the St. Geertrude and Vigilant from Honduras and Havana, Cuba loaded with indigo and so on, a packet boat and the Porto Velna. The ship from Havana was loaded with sugar, the one from Carthagena and Havana with cotton, cacao, gayac [guayacan or pokhout?] and Havana sugar. The money loaded at Carthagena was left behind at Havana on board of the warship St. Jaques which was daily expcected to arrive. On board of the Vigilant was d’Ulloa crowns representative at Louisiana but forced to return by the council and inhabitants of this colony.
