Designed by Jacques Piccard and launched by Giovanola Frères S.A., Monthey, Switzerland on 27 February 1964 at Le Bouveret, made between 1964-1965 1.100 dives in the Lake Geneva and between 1969-1984 used or scientific and industrial research in the Gulf of Mexico. Later handed over to the Swiss Museum of Transports, Lucenne and restored between 2005-2014. Dimensions 28,50 (over all) x 6,80 (over all) x 7,43 (height) x 3,63 (draught) metres, weight 78,78-165,48 (fitted out for sea duty) tons and displacement 178 (surfaced)-222 (submerged) tons. Crew numbered 5 persons, accommodation for 40 passengers.
