Spain-flagged, homeport Rota, Cadiz, Spain, MMSI 225301000 and call sign EBFQ. Laid down by Bazan on 15 April 1992, launched on 21 June 1993 and commissioned in 1995. Of the Santa Maria-class based on the American Oliver Hazard Perry-class, preceded by Baleares-class and succeeded by Álvari de Bazán-class. Displacement 1.897 (light)-3.668 (standard)-4.244 (full load) tons and as dimensions 138,8 x 14,3 x 8,6 metres or 455.5 x 46.11 x 28.3 feet. The 2 General Electric LM2500-30 gas turbines supplying 41.000shp/31MW via one shaft allowing a speed of 30 knots. The armament consists of 17,6cm.3”/62 OTO Melara Mk 75 naval gun, 32,4cm Mk 32 triple tube launcher for Mark 46 torpedoes, Mk 13 missile launcher for RGM-84 Harpoon SSM and SM-1MR Block VIB SAM missiles and 1-2cm Meroka CIWS 12 barrel anti aircraft system and 1-SH-60 Seahawk LAMPS III helicopter.
