The German submarines on the Atlantic Ocean west of the Azores according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 23 May 1942

An item reported that on 22 May the estimated positions of 36 German submarines on the Atlantic Ocean west of the Azores (Portugal) longitude were: Newfoundland-Nova Scotia 7, between Nova Scotia-Cape Hatteras 5 of which one homeward bound, between Cape Hatteras--Florida Straits 2 of which 1 homeward bound, Gulf of Mexico 2, west part Caribbean 3, east part Caribbean 4, 1 area Cape San Roque, Brazil, between latitudes of Cape Race-Cape Hatteras 6 of which 5 east- and 1 westward bound) and between latitudes of Cape Hatteras-Virigin Islands 6 of which which 4 east- and 2 westward bound.
