An item reported the arrival at Honolulu, Hawaii on 4 December of the Hawaiian whaling bark Benjamin Rush captain Fish returning from Ochotsk 15 barrels sperm oil 1.000 barrels whale oil 12.000 lbs bone this season. Harassed by a heavy gale on the passage down from S.S.W. loosing waist and bow boats and larboard davits but no further damage. The Hawaiian sailor Huitaita died underway and was buried at sea.
