Laid down by Uraga Dock Co. Ltd., Uraga, Japan for Osaka Syosen KK, Osaka, Japan on 19 September 1935, launched on 21 November 1935, completed on 10 February 1936, requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1937, converted in to a hospital ship and served in the Sino-Japan war and Second World War until 1943 when she was converted into a military cargo ship and finally torpedoed and sunk by the British submarine HMS-Tally Ho om 15 January 1944 underway towards the Andaman Islands. Call sign JZYH. Gross tonnage 2.962 tons, under deck 2.271 tons, net tonnage 1725 tons and as dimensions 29.7 x 45.0 x 23.8 feet.
