The loss of the Dutch Greenland whaler Negotie in 1762

Statement dated 12 August 1762 by several men that they were part of the Greenland whaler Negotie commandeur Jacob Mooij, leaving Texel on 20 April, arriving 10 May off Greenland, sighting on 9 June several whales, harrassed on 10 June by heavy wind hitting the ice and part of the stern lossing she was so heavily leaking that the whole crew handling 3 pumps not was able to keep her floating, in the afternoon were the masts cut and while she was sinking abandoned by her crew.(1)
