American whaler W.&L. Packet reported according to the newspaper The Inquirer and Mirror dated Saturday 28 February 1835

An item referred to the whaler Bengal which reported in July 1834 the whaler W.&L. Packet master had been the late Russell of New Bedford 200 barrels oil. The edition dated 4 March reported that Russell died on 8 May of a fever caused by a severe cold taken at Payta, Peru.
