American whaling ship Sylph visited Lahaina, Hawaii according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 20 October 1849

An item reported the arrival at Lahaina, Hawaii on 8 October by the American whaling ship Sylph master Gardiner of New Bedford, coming clean from California and loading cargo for the USA. (1)

Note

1. There was in 1849 a whaler named Sylph and a master named Francis Macy Gardner nut she was from Fairhaven and returned in 1840 loaded with sperm and whale oil and whale bone.
