Dutch Greenland whalers attacked at Greenland by French privateers according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haerlemsche courant dated 21 August 1677

An item dated ’t Vlie, Netherlands 18 August mentioned the arrival of a Greenland boat from a captured Greenland whalers which reported that between the 40-50 Dutch Greenland whalers gathered in the Zuyt-baey. Two batteries were to protect them against French privateers.
