Japanese cargo ship Kosei Maru 1932-1942

Call sign JPIE. Gross tonnage 6.668 tons, under deck 6.040 tons, net tonnage 4.768 tons and as dimensions 436.4 x 58.5 x 32.8 feet. Built by Mitsubushi Zosen Kaisha Ltd., Ngasaki, Japan for Hiroumo Syozi KK, Kobe, Japan. Laid down on 22 April 1932, launched on 15 January 1933, completed on 17 March 1933, requisitioned by Imperial Japanese Navy on 19 November 1941, converted for military purposes between 20 November-8 December 1941 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries K.K. shipyard, registered as auxiliary collier/tanker on 10 December 1941, sunk after striking a Japanese mine at Cam Ranh Bay, French Indochina on 10 March 1942 and stricken from the navy list on 1 April 1942.
