Japanese river gunboat Katata 1922-1945 (1947)

Of the Seta-class, consisting of the Seta, Katata, Hira and Hozu. Built under the 1910 Fiscal Year. Laid down by Harima Shipyards, Aioi, Japan on 29 April 1922, launched on 16 July 1922, disassembled, transported to Shanghai, China and reassembled by Tunghwa Shipyard beginning on 25 January 1923, completed on 20 October 1923, damaged by an USAAF air attack near Jiujiang on 12 December, possible sunk and salvaged, towed to Shanghai and disarmed in early 1945, on 2 April 1945 again damaged by USAAF air attack, in 1946 handed over to China as war reparations in 1946, stricken of Japanese Navy list on 3 May 1947 and finally broken up. With a displacement of 343 tons and as dimensions 56.08 x 8.23 x 1.02 metres or 184.0 x 27.0 x 3.3 feet. With 2-shaft reciprocating steam engines and 2 boilers was her 2.100 hp horsepower enough for 16 knots and a range of 1.750 nautical miles/10 knots. Crew numbered 62 men. Original armament 2x1-8cm/3.1| and 6-7.7 machin eguns, replaced around 1940 by 2x1-8cm/3.1 /40cal anti aicraft guns and 5-13.2mm Hotchkiss machine guns.
