British destroyer HMS Intrepid liberated British steamship Stangate from the Spanish according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 13 March 1939

An item dated London, England 12 March reported that the steamship Stangate forced by a Spanish Nationalist warship to go to Majorca was liberated by the British destroyer HMS Intrepid responding on a radio call of a nearby British ship and escorting the Stangate to Gibraltar.
