German divisional torpedo boat SMS (ex-D 1 1886-1887, D 2 1887-1902, Alice Roosevelt 1902-1914) D 2 1914-1922

Laid down by F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany with yard number 325, launched on 11 September 1886, commissioned on 1 May 1887 as D 1, renamed D 2 on 1 August 1887, used as torpedo boat flotilla flagship, renamed Alice Roosevelt and served as station yacht in the North Sea after March 1902, renamed D 2 and used as coastal defence vessel 1914, stricken on 7 December 1920 and broken up in 1922. Displacement 249 (standard)-300 (maximum) tons and as dimensions 56.05 (over all) x 6.60 x 1.82 (forward)-3.40 (aft) metres. Maximum sped 20.6 knots. Armament consisted of 6-3.7cm machine guns, replaced in 1893 by 3-5cm cal 40 torpedo guns and 3-35cm torpedo tubes.
