Honolulu, Hawaii presented as free port for whalers of all nations according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 3 July 1847

An announcement reported that Honolulu, Hawaii was a free port for whalers of all nations and just charging 2 dollars for buoys and one dollar for clearance. By law of 15 June 1847 were tonnage dues and pilotage abolished. They were allowed to unload goods with a maximum of 200 dollars free above this value 5% of the whole landed.
