Launched by Yarrow&Co. Ltd., Scotstoun, Glasgow, Scotland for the Portuguese navy as the Macau, completed in 1910, handed over at Macao to Japanese forces in August 1943, commissioned on 15 August 1943 as Maiko, after the Second World War handed over to China and in service until 1968. Displacement 95 (standard)-100 (in 1950s)-133 (full loaded) tons and as dimensions 120 (over all) x 20 x 2 feet or 36.5 x 6.02 x 0.66 metres. Two vertical triple expansion engines and 1 Yarrow boiler supplied via 2 shafts 250 hp allowing a speed of 11.8 knots. Crew numbered 234 men. Armament consisted of 2x1-5.7cm/6 pd cal 40 guns and 3x1-7.7 mm machine guns.
