Japanese screw steam cargo ship (ex-Yka No. 3 1919-1931, Yka No. 1931-1936, Yaye Maru 1936-1938) Yae Maru 1938-1942

Gross tonnage 6.781 ton, under deck 6.507 ton, net tonnage 5.059 and as dimensions 425.0 x 53.6 x 37.5 x 8.6 (light)-28.6 (loaded) feet. Speed 10 (normal cruising)-13 (maximum) knots. With a coal bunker capacity of 2.300 ton and a speed of 10 knots a range of 15.000 nautical miles. Reciprocating steam propulsion. Single screw. Call sign JAED. Built by Harima Dockyard Co. Ltd., Harima, Japan in June 1919 and owned by Kokusai Kisen K.K., Kobe, Japan. Sunk by the British submarine HMS Truant in the Malacca Strait, 80 miles west north west of Penang, Malysia on 1 April 1942.
