An item reported the arrival of the British cruiser HMS Dauntless (1) and destroyer Velox (2) on 20 July at Le Havre, France coming from Cowes, Wight.

1. Part of the Danea or D-class light cruisers, preceded by C-class, succeeded by Emerald-class. Building ordered in September 1916, laid down by Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Jarrow, England on 3 January 1917, launched on 10 April 1918, commissioned on 22 November 1918, sold on 13 February 1946 and broken up in April 1946.
2. Part of the Admiralty V-class destroyers, preceded by Parker and S-classes, succeeded by Thornycroft type destroyer leader. Laid down by Doxford, Pallion, England in January 1917, launched on 17 November 1917, commissioned on 1 April 1918 and broken up in 1947.
