Regina Margherita-class

An item dated Rome, Italy 1 October reported that as far as known 474 crewmembers survived the loss of the Italian battleship Benedetto Brin.(1)

1. Of the Regina Margherita-class consisting of the Regina Margherita and the Benedetto Brin, succeeded by the Ammiraglio di Saint Bon-class and succeeded by the Regina Elena-class. Laid down by Castellammare Naval Shipyard on 30 January 1899, launched on 7 November 1901, completed on 1 September 1901 and destroyed by an explosion on 27 September 1915. In fact 387 survivors and 454 men killed.
