Bolsheviks reconstructing harbour and coastal defences in and around Batumi, Georgia according to the Secret Admiralty Weekly Intelligence Summary Nr. 31 for the week ending 6 August 1921

An item referred to a unconfirmed report stating that the Bolsheviks were reconstructing the by British forces destroyed harbour and coastal defences in and around Batum. This was done before the town Batum and province was handed over on 7 July 1920. The whole coastal area of the vicinity of Batum[i], Black Sea, Georgia and the Black Sea harbour of Poti, Georgia were mined. From the forts was regularly exercised with gunfire on towed targets.
