British light cruiser HMS Danae used for prisoners transport in Irish waters according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 23 dated 11 December 1920

An item reported the departure of British light cruiser HMS Danae on 12 December from Portsmouth on 12 December towards Kingstown for transporting prisoners in Irish waters according to orders of the Commander-in-Chief ending her earlier program.

Note

1. Part of Danae or D-class light cruisers, preceded by C-class, succeeded by Emerald-class. Laid down by Armstrong Whitworth on 1 December 1916, launched on 26 January 1918, commissioned on 22 July 1918, decommissioned on 4 October 1944, handed over to the Polish navy and renamed ORP Conrad on 4 October 1944, decommissioned and recommissioned in British Royal Navy on 28 September 1946, decommissioned on 22 January 1948, sold on 22 January 1948 and on 27 March started her breaking up.
