Italy selling submarines to Peru and ordered new building of others according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 23 dated 11 December 1920

An item reported that two large submarines under building at Fiat, San Giorgio for account of the Italian navy were sold to Peru. It seemed that 4 large submarines were ordered to be built at Spezia and probably to be fitted out with the propulsion of former U-boats acquired as war repairs. The whole matter was kept very secret by the Italian government.
