Japanese forces preparing actions against Port Moresby according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 26 August 1942

An item reported that at Buha, New Guinea on 21 August 37 barges were counted. On 24 August were Japanese troops landed with 7 barges at Fona, New Guinea around 30 miles northeast of Buma. The J.I.C. commented that the Japanese forces were strengthening their positions probably for acting against Port Moresby.
