Germany strengthening coastal defence of Norway according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 14 March 1942

An item reported that the Norwegian coastal defence was strengthened with around 150 new coastal batteries, soldiers transferred from Germany to man the batteries, further more 16 infantry battalions and a small scale reorganization of the German troops already present in Norway. At Trondheim seemed the existing naval facilities to be increased on a large scale and the naval forces stationed at Norway included 2 battleships and a heavy cruiser.(1)
