Norwegian offshore patrol vessel KV Nordkapp (A531) 1980-

Norway-flagged, MMSI 257019000 and call sign LBHA. Launched by Bergens Mek. Verksted, Bergen, Norway on 2 April 1980, commissioned on 25 April 1981, transferred to the Norwegian Navy on 1 November 2022. In 2023 flagship of the Standing Nato Mine Countermeasures Group.

W320. Of the Nordkapp-class offshore patrol type 320 vessels serving in the Coast Guard for rescue, fishery inspection and research tasks and patrolling in the exclusive economic zone. Building program was delayed by design changes and due to lacking of funding were 4 units cancelled and just 3 built.

Displacement 2,201 (light)-3,276 (full load) tons and as dimensions 97.50 (between perpendiculars)-105.0 x 13.85 x 4.55metres. Propulsion consists of 4x9-AXAG Wichman diesels allowing with 14,400 bhp a speed of 22 knots and a range of 7,500 nautical miles/15 knots. Crew numbered 52 men and an additional 6 for the helicopter Lynx WG-13 she can carry with her in the hangar. Armament consists of 1-57mm cal 70 Bofors dual purpose cannon, 12.7mm/0.50 machine guns, 1 depth charge rack (6depth charges), 1-2 round Simbad SAM system for Minstral missiles, 3-2cm Rheinmetall anti aircraft guns and provisions for 2x3-32.4cm Mk32 Mod5 anti submarine torpedo tubes.
