American whaler Niantic spoken according to the newspaper Auckland Chronicle and New Zealand Colonist dated 31 October 1844

An item reported that the American whaler Niantic of Sag Harbour was spoken by the Thomas Lord off the north east end of New Zealand. Everything went well on board and she was bound for the east coast on a whaling course.
