American whaler Mary visited New Zealand according to the Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald dated 13 February 1860

An item dated Mongonui, New Zealand 23 January reported that the American whaler Mary 376 tons, ship, master Brock of Nantucket arrived on 16 January coming from the Northern seas (Ochotsk and so on) with just 50 barrels whale oil, the worst season in many years.
